Reverse Engineering Projects

ATRONA performs reverse engineering at its laboratory facilities on a routine basis. We have helped customers with various types of projects on components from the aerospace industry, off highway industry, automotive industry, heavy machinery industry, food industry, and military. We have performed reverse engineering on simple and complex components. In some cases reverse engineering projects constitute an entire assembly with multiple components including non metal components. ATRONA helps its customers also with with metallurgical and materials reverse engineering projects. Some customers do all dimensional analysis and we do the material investigation, coating analysis, and how the material was heat treated including physical and mechanical properties.

METHODS: With our modern multidisciplinary modern laboratory and all the tools and talents available to us we can get he job done. Besides having dimensional metrology lab with a CMM and many types of microscopic dimensional measuring capabilities we have our calibration lab right next door that is capable of performing dimensional measurements with optical comparators, universal measuring machine, gauges and hand tools, profilometers for surface finish analysis and gear checkers.

PROCEDURE: Call us, E-mail us, send us an RFQ, or a fax. In ideal situations we would want to inspec between 5 and 10 components to allow for tolerancing and dimensioning. We understand that in many cases a customer may only have one sample. We also understand that in some cases a customer may not want the sample to be destroyed during the reverse engineering project. We will assess the situation and advice on best procedures and practices to handle the project and work with our customers to get the job done.
