Considered by the industry as an expert in the field of metallurgy, heat treat and materials, Atif "Ott" Odeh has consulted with companies in North and South America, as well as Europe, China, Japan, Korea, India, and elsewhere. He is currently the President and Principal Metallurgist for ATRONA Test Labs, Inc.; which he founded in 1999.
Mr. Odeh is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering. He was named the Alumnus of the Year in 2004 by the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, Department of Material Science & Engineering. He is a member of the Material Science and Engineering Alumni Board at the University of Illinois and the author of "Metallurgy and Heat Treatment, the Pocket Book," a best-selling handbook that summarizes the essentials of metallurgy and materials, and their heat treatment along with personal experiences for what works.
As a working metallurgist, Mr. Odeh has extensive experience in metallurgical failure analysis and his firm has successfully completed well over 3,500 failure analysis assignments in the last decade alone. This expertise makes him uniquely qualified to investigate failures, determine root cause, and provide expert opinion, investigative analysis, as well as full supportive evidence through a formal and comprehensive analysis report for the claim at hand.
