With six cutting edge test labs under one roof, ATRONA Test Labs offers you a single source solution for comprehensive root cause investigations and formal failure analysis. We have all of the tools needed to control every aspect of the investigation, including:
ATRONA has two full Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) systems, fully equipped with low and variable pressure capabilities and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDS) with full digital imaging - an essential tool in failure analysis and identification of failure mode.
For failed metal parts, components and assemblies, we offer you one of the most advanced metallurgical test labs in the country with the latest instruments, equipment and technology, and four full time metallurgists on staff, including our lead metallurgist, Ott Odeh - a leading expert in the field.
We conduct polymer and plastic testing in accordance with ASTM, ISO and other recognized testing standards. We can analyze thermoplastics, thermosets, adhesives, elastomers, rubbers, and other polymers. Our failure analysis testing protocols may include: material ID, thermal property analysis, particle cleanliness, and related tests.
At ATRONA, we can determine the mechanical properties of metals and other materials, fasteners, weldments, and more. We perform a range of mechanical tests, including Charpy impact, tensile, compression, shear strength, torque measurement, proof load, and much more. What's more part shape and size hardly matter with our extensive sample preparation capabilities and fully-equipped machine shop.
ATRONA Test Labs conducts chemical analysis of all types of metal and metal alloys. This is another important tool in many failure investigations. Our analysis will assure that the composition of the metal used in a part or component is appropriate for its intended end use.
Contamination can take place in components or systems causing damage and failures. With ATRONA's special techniques and analysis, even the tiniest particle or fragment can be detected. We can also determine the size, mass, surface area, and composition of the contamination.
Most importantly, ATRONA Test Labs offers you a level of expertise that is unmatched in the field with well over 3,500 failure investigation assignments under our belt including metallurgical failure analysis for root cause investigations, plastics and polymers failure analysis, failure analysis to establish liability, and simple failure analysis for future failure prevention.
We would welcome the opportunity to work with you on your failure analysis assigment. You'll discover we spend a large amount of time and effort carefully considering the background of failure and studying the general features before the actual investigation begins. However, you will also find us fairly practical and fast with noticeable efficiency. We have been known to hand customers a 100-page report on a complex failure analysis in as little as two to three days. Most standard failure analysis take five to seven days.
